I used this software for my Forest & Woodland Management dissertation. I was fortunate enough to have an old xp laptop, and this software runs fine on this, and gave me the results I need. I would suggest that anyone planning on using this, processes their images through Photoshop or similar first, turning the contrast up to maximum, as this helps the software. it goes without saying that all your images need to be taken on the same settings, so small aperture (f/16 or smaller), on a tripod, and if you have one, a remote release, this reduces camera shake, and will give you better results through the software. Hope this helps.
